Placemats

A place mat is a set of pieces of fabric, plastic or paper used to protect and decorate the surface of the table with an Alsatian theme at a meal or special event and can be used for many occasions, such as family dinners, wedding receptions, birthdays and Christmas parties. 

They can be matched with napkins, glasses and plates to create a coordinated look and add a touch of sophistication to the table.

They are usually placed on the table before the guests are seated, and can be used to protect the table from stains and scratches, as well as adding colour and elegance to the dining room décor.

The size of a placemat depends on the size of the table on which it is placed and the number of people who will be sitting on it. In general, a standard placemat is designed to cover a table surface of around 40 cm x 30 cm, suitable for a small to medium-sized table and for one to two people.
