Beautiful Alsatian doll on a stand with Porcelain limbs and head, dressed in the traditional Alsatian outfit (long red skirt also called the kutt), black apron and an Alsatian headdress.
Although the traditional costume is no longer really worn today, it remains a recognisable symbol of Alsace throughout France. Inspired by the rigour of dress inherited from German fashions and French aesthetics, the Alsatian costume is still proudly worn today at regional events or on the occasion of weddings.
