Alsace, a land favourable to the arts, has once again exercised its irresistible power of seduction by attracting Georges Ratkoff, a watercolourist.
Georges had a happy childhood, loved to read and became an unconditional fan of Tintin, its albums and its newspaper, of which he preciously kept the very first issues.
A good student, although he denies it, he passes the two bachots and attends the Académie Charpentier, a school of applied arts, an offshoot of the Académie de la Grande Chaumière, a place of training that has seen Delacroix, Manet, Courbet, Picasso, Cézanne...
