Jean-Jacques Waltz, known as Hansi or Uncle Hansi, was a renowned French illustrator and artist born in Colmar, Alsace. In 1894, his father sent him to Lyon to study industrial design, painting, and decorative arts. After his time in Lyon, he returned to Alsace where he gained fame as a postcard artist and regional illustrator.
The motifs in his works blend idyllic Alsatian village scenes with satire and distinctive character. While his illustrations appear innocent at first glance, closer examination reveals Hansi's unique artistic mastery, lending them timeless appeal.
PEFC paper (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification schemes) is certified paper sourced from responsibly managed forests. It is therefore environmentally friendly, long-lasting, and supports ethical forestry practices worldwide.
