Hansi Postcard featuring Happy Birthday from the Hansi Museum Collection, the perfect format for your birthday wishes.

Jean-Jacques Waltz, alias Hansi or Uncle Hansi, is a French illustrator and artist born in Colmar. In 1894 his father sent him to Lyon to study industrial drawing, painting and decorative arts. After his stay in Lyon, he returned to Alsace where he became renowned as a talented postcard artist with distinctive character.
The motifs of his illustrations combine idyllic village scenes with witty anti-German caricatures. Whilst at first glance his illustrations appear to be innocent scenes of Alsatian life, closer observation reveals a clear dislike of the Germans, which became Hansi's distinctive trademark.
Printed on PEFC paper (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification schemes), this postcard comes from responsibly managed forests. It is therefore environmentally friendly and durable over time, perfect for preserving your Alsatian memories.
