The potteries of Soufflenheim are fired at over 1000°C, which gives these pieces great quality and durability. They will withstand the heat of your oven without any problems and are also suitable for the microwave and dishwasher.
Yes, of course, Soufflenheim pottery can withstand high heat, but only in the oven, microwave or dishwasher. However, to preserve the beauty of your hand-painted decoration, we recommend gentle cleaning with warm water.
Clean your salad bowl with warm water and a sponge or non-metallic brush with mild washing-up liquid. Once dry, store your bowl in a dry, well-ventilated place. Avoid sudden temperature changes to extend the life of your piece.
You may sometimes notice very thin cracks in the glaze of the salad bowl. This crazing is necessary to ensure the clay can expand and contract without breaking. The cracks are more or less visible depending on the piece and colour, and may become more pronounced over time and with frequent use. This is a natural characteristic of handmade Soufflenheim pottery that testifies to its authenticity.
