The Hansi Bookmark representing the Happy Children near their Village is a reading accessory made in PEFC paper in France, from the Hansi Museum Collection. As its name suggests, this bookmark allows you to mark a page of a book, that is to say to distinguish this page from others in order to be able to find it later, without damaging your book.

Dimension, 19.5 cm x 5.5 cm
Jean-Jacques Waltz, alias Hansi or Uncle Hansi, is a French illustrator and artist born in Colmar. In 1894, his father sent him to Lyon to study industrial drawing, painting and decorative arts. After his stay in Lyon, he returned to Alsace where he became famous as a regional postcard artist.
The motifs of his illustrations often combine idyllic village scenes with subtle social commentary. While at first glance his illustrations appear to be innocent scenes of Alsatian life, closer observation reveals Hansi's special sensitivity to regional heritage, the hallmark of his artistic style.
PEFC paper (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification Schemes) is certified paper sourced from responsibly managed forests. It is therefore environmentally friendly and sustainable over time, making it a high-quality ecological Alsatian gift.
