After a particularly successful 2024 edition, Obernai is already preparing for its next Christmas. The tourist office has confirmed that this year's Christmas market will run from 28 November to 31 December 2025.
And there's good news: two new chalets will be set up in the Cour Athic, for even more discoveries and flavours.
As last year, the dates have been chosen to coincide with those of Strasbourg and Colmar. This is a way of maintaining the balance between the different towns in Alsace and welcoming visitors under the best possible conditions.
It's a strategy that already proved its worth in 2024.
A quick look back: in 2014, a year with a similar calendar, Colmar opened the ball on 21 November, followed by Strasbourg on 28 November and Obernai on 29 November.
In 2025, we're playing the unity card... while we wait for the other cities to unveil their dates.
Unsurprisingly, the 2024 edition was a sell-out. Although no official count has been made, it is estimated that nearly 500,000 visitors strolled through the illuminated market aisles.
The free shuttle buses, which were introduced at weekends, attracted a record 6,500 passengers.
Another new feature last year was the creation of a fifth square, the Cour Athic, dedicated to new exhibitors. The space was beautifully decorated with illustrations by artist Georges Ratkoff.
While a few adjustments had to be made after the first weekend - notably to improve signage - exhibitors welcomed the initiative.
For 2025, the experience will be further refined: two additional chalets will be set up in this courtyard, which will undoubtedly become one of the favourite spots for visitors in search of authenticity.
Once again, the Obernai Christmas Market looks set to be a not-to-be-missed event of the Alsace winter season. The Christmas spirit is just waiting for you...
