Recipe of the Flammekueche, a 100% Alsatian speciality !
Here are the ingredients to make a tarte flambée for 6 people.
- 500 gr of bread dough (from the baker)
- 2 large onions
- 2 tablespoons of double cream
- 2 tablespoons of well-drained cottage cheese
- 80 g smoked bacon
- 1 tablespoon rapeseed oil
- Salt and pepper, grated nutmeg (optional)
Note: Flammekueche is traditionally filled with cream and/or cottage cheese, bacon and onions. However, it is possible to sprinkle it with Gruyère cheese to make a variant called Gratinée.
